The gap

Home adaptation decisions need more than a checklist.

Traditional assessments can be static, generic or fragmented. AdaptHome AI is designed to connect resident needs, the home environment, risks, adaptation options and installation feasibility into one reasoned decision.

Generic checklists

Standardised checklists treat very different residents and very different homes in much the same way.

Fragmented information

Resident information, home context, hazards and adaptation options often live in separate places.

Late feasibility surprises

Installation constraints may only become obvious once a contractor visits the property.

Traditional process

  1. Generic checklist
  2. Recommendation
  3. Installation issues

AdaptHome AI

  1. Resident + home
  2. Intelligence
  3. Compare
  4. Validate
  5. Ranked recommendation
  6. Outcome learning

“From generic accessibility checklists to personalised adaptation intelligence.”

About

Designed around the reality of home adaptation.

AdaptHome AI was developed around a real-world problem in the UK care and home adaptation environment — the distance between the information gathered at assessment and the ability to generate personalised, evidence-based adaptation decisions.

The founder, Uzair Bin Habib, has frontline experience across UK care and support roles, including working with elderly and disabled residents. That experience helped identify where assessment information stops short of a personalised, feasibility-checked adaptation plan. AdaptHome AI is built as decision-support technology: professional judgement stays central, and the platform is designed to support qualified assessors rather than replace them.

Platform

One platform. From assessment to adaptation outcome.

AdaptHome AI brings resident information, home context, risk intelligence, adaptation comparison and feasibility reasoning into one connected platform.

01

Resident Digital Twin

Build a structured representation of the resident's functional needs and the home environment.

Mobility, wheelchair use, walking-aid dependency, cognitive needs, fall history and independence requirements are considered alongside home layout and room information.

MVP (basic representation)
02

Risk-to-Adaptation Intelligence

Connect resident characteristics, hazards and potential adaptation options to identify relevant interventions.

Instead of treating every home as a generic checklist, the graph is designed to relate individual circumstances to specific home risks.

MVP (first generation)
03

Adaptation Simulation

Compare potential interventions and assess their relative safety and independence benefits.

The MVP uses rules-based and statistical scoring; fully learned counterfactual simulation is planned for later phases.

Rules-based in MVP
04

Spatial Feasibility

Consider whether an adaptation can realistically be installed within the physical constraints of the home.

The MVP uses a manual installability checklist validated by a human assessor. Computer-vision-assisted feasibility is on the roadmap.

Human-validated in MVP
05

Outcome Learning

Use real-world adaptation outcomes to progressively improve future recommendations.

Completed assessments and installed adaptations are intended to feed outcome information back into the platform over time.

Roadmap

Current MVP scope

Proving the assessment-to-recommendation loop

Resident needs

Reduced mobility / wheelchair use · Walking-aid dependency · Early-stage dementia

Adaptation categories

Bathroom adaptation · Stairs / level access · Doorway / circulation widening

How it works

From assessment to intelligent adaptation.

A structured, eight-stage workflow designed to keep the assessor in control at every decision point.

  1. STEP 01

    Assess

    Capture the resident's functional profile.

    • Mobility
    • Walking aids
    • Wheelchair use
    • Cognition
    • Fall history
    • Independence needs
  2. STEP 02

    Capture the home

    Capture the physical environment.

    • Floorplans
    • Room photographs
    • Home layout information
  3. STEP 03

    Build the digital twin

Combine the resident's functional information with the home environment to create a structured representation.

  4. STEP 04

    Analyse risks

Use the Risk-to-Adaptation Intelligence Graph to connect resident profile, hazards and adaptation options.

  5. STEP 05

    Compare options

Evaluate potential adaptations and compare their relative benefits for safety and independence.

  6. STEP 06

    Validate feasibility

    MVP + Roadmap

Check whether the proposed adaptation is physically feasible and installable.

MVP: human-validated manual installability checklist. Roadmap: automated spatial feasibility reasoning.

  7. STEP 07

    Generate the plan

Produce a ranked adaptation recommendation with clear, evidence-driven reasoning that assessors can review.

  8. STEP 08

    Learn

    Roadmap

Real-world outcomes can feed back into the platform over time, so recommendations become progressively more evidence-based.

    Roadmap

The closed loop

  • Assess
  • Understand
  • Analyse
  • Simulate
  • Validate
  • Recommend
  • Learn
  • Back to assessment
